Ana Martinez
Ana Martínez is a Senior Architect at Varo Consulting, bringing over 15 years of expertise in architecture, design, and project management across the educational, hospitality, and retail sectors. At Varo, Ana leads the design and delivery of innovative, user-focused projects throughout the UK and Europe, ensuring the highest standards of design quality and technical precision at every stage.
Her role involves close collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors to create tailored architectural solutions that balance creativity with functionality. Ana’s strong leadership skills and meticulous attention to detail enable her to manage complex projects efficiently, from initial concept through to construction and completion.
Prior to joining Varo, Ana spent seven years working in the United States, where she led numerous projects, including high-profile commissions such as the Newsfeed Café and WGBH Broadcast Studio at the Boston Public Library, LEGO Discovery Centers in Boston, Philadelphia, and Chicago, and the Daikanyama concept at Bloomingdale’s in New York City.
Ana’s work has been widely recognized with prestigious awards, including the 2017 Harleston Parker Medal for the Boston Public Library project and the Construction Excellence Award for Best Retail Project for the Legoland Discovery Center in Philadelphia. She also co-authored House for a Nomad Collector, which received the FAD Prize for Ephemeral Intervention.
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of Alicante, and an Advanced Studies Diploma in Housing and Institutional Buildings from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where she also pursued doctoral research.
